What is The Citadel?
Firstly, The Citadel is not a template driven system where you simply pick and chose a web design, fill in the blanks and forget about it.

A Citadel Web site is of two parts, The Citadel, this is the web based management interface from where you manage the content and a Web Site that accesses The Citadels database and displays your content the way in which you have defined.

The Citadel was born of a set of tools used to design, develop and then store standard HTML web pages in a database which were then always available for for the web developers to rapidly access, modify and deploy.

It became apparent that you did not need to be a web developer to understand and successfully develop a web site from the tool set. It was at this point we embarked on a project to build a simple, user friendly web based, Internet accessible interface to the tool set, The Citadel was born.

Where does The Citadel fit?
The Citadel is not trying to be the "be all and endall" of web development. We admit The Citadel cannot do everything. The Citadel is a product that will enable small to medium business owners the opportunity to build and have a professional, well developed and manageable web presence at a reasonable cost.

We see The Citadel's place in the market as the new bridge between the supposedly free Internet template driven web builder sites and the more traditional custom built once off web sites with and their exorbadadent development and maintenance costs. We describe it as the "new bridge" as it does not require any third party web development tools to build a site, you do everything from your browser.

Why?
The Citadel requires higher owner intervention (than a template website), some foresite and planning, oh and some work. A Citadel managed web site will however save you thousands of dollars in the cost of development over that of traditional custom built web sites. Even the simplest custom built web site will be in the order of three to five thousand dollars to build from scratch.

Can I Drive The Citadel?
While the tools are simple to use, there is no programming required and there are no other third party web development tools required, the owner will however require some graphics knowledge, how to create and modify images especially. The Citadel is owner driven and as such is required to provide content such as buttons, banners and text. Text can be added by simply cutting and pasting from existing documentation into the online editor and formatting with the same ease of that of a word processor.

WHAT?......I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GRAPHICS........Dont despair, you probably have a graphic artist who takes care of your company logo's, business cards, brochures etc. These people are generally well qualified to create for you a banner for your web site, a couple of buttons and a few pictures. Having a professional graphic artist do just the images is far less expensive than the cost of a third party built web site, developed from the ground up.

So what am I buying? You are not buying a developed web site.

• You are buying unlimited access to The Citadel management system, in effect a license.
• You are buying content space in the management system, as much as you require.
• You are buying unlimited ability to rapidly develop, modify and publish your web site on our servers.
• You are buying as much bandwidth required to build your web site

What does it cost?
Ultimately Cost do depend on the your needs. Please feel free to contact us and discuss your requirement. Rearly will it cost you more that $2000.00AU to have your website up and generating a client stream to your business.   We can also provide for you, free of charge a domain name within our own generic ausweb.ws, ausnet.ws and wwwau.com domain name space. This would provide you with a website name like yourcompany.ausweb.ws.

Are there on going costs? Yes, your web site will be hosted for free for the first year, after which an annual hosting fee will be payable, this is currently set at $250 + GST Per Annum.
